Gonna try to be a mechanic and electical engineer...
Getting ready to tackle two projects for the Vette that SEEM easy from all the research I have done, although with my luck....

First is to remove my EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module), which controls my active handling, traction control, and anti-lock brakes, crack the module open, and re-solder some contacts that are known weak points, seal the unit back up, reinstall it, and pray to the car gods that it works.

It seems pretty straight forward, but I am not sure if I am going to tackle it myself or send it off and spend $150.00 to let someone do it. If the shop does it, it is guaranteed, if I do it and screw up, is gonna be $1,400.00 to replace....so still not sure about that one.

The second is to take my interior apart so I can get my climate control unit out, open that up and solder some contacts in there so my digital display works.

Thanks GM...you can produce the LS series motor which is virtually bullet proof, but you can't get simple soldering down. Sm13Sm6

Spend the 150. I wouldn't take the 1400 gamble. But then again, I'm fairly sure I'd screw it up.

I think that is where I am going...it looks easy and pretty straight forward, but with my luck....

I had to re-solder the contacts in the instrument cluster of the 91 Lincoln. I had 2 have my roommate help but with 3 hands it worked great when it was done.
But there was no exchange option either.

ECBM is going to the pro. I prolly could do it myself and save about $120.00, but I decided I am just not willing to take the chance of making a $1,400.00 mistake.

The way I figure it, $120 is two tanks of gas, while $1,400 is almost a cam install...I would rather lose out on a couple gallons of gas.
