RE: Hagerty predicts this year's future classics
The only one I can really disagree with (surprisingly) is the Golf R. I cant say for sure, but I feel like after the mk4 .:R the majority of people feel that the .:R has lost its luster. Hopefully VW will knock this one out of the park in the states.

RE: Hagerty predicts this year's future classics
I strongly disagree with the Buick. Nice car, but that is not going to be a future collector.
Mildly disagree with the Golf R. The first R32 still has strong resale, but the 2nd gen didn't hold up that well and won't be a collector. I suspect the Golf R might find a similar fate. Also mildly disagree with the Grand Cherokee SRT... cool SUV, but I don't see anything about it that would make it a collector piece. The outgoing SRT is not that "hot" in the market and while the new one is a lot nicer, it isn't really that much "different" to warrant collector status. The ones I feel fairly good about on that list are the Mustang, Camaro, GT-R, 911 (collector in a different sense... all clean 911 model end up holding their value well in the long run), possibly the Abarth. 2011 BMW 335xi Coupe LeMans Blue / Black Leather |

RE: Hagerty predicts this year's future classics
Pretty stupid list, IMO. No shit all of the limited edition performance models are going to be the most desirable in the future. How about some actual insight?

Hagerty predicts this year's future classics
I don't believe the 7th generation 911 will be a classic. P-cars have a long history of significant engineering faults in the first generation of a major redesign.

RE: Hagerty predicts this year's future classics
My list:
BMW Z4 (especially M) and M-coupe BMW X6 BMW 5-series GT (yes I said it) Cadillac CTS-V Volvo C30 Hummer H1 Mercedes CL That's my list for now, I'm sure there are more. Basically cars with unique and innovative styling that mark a high point in a brand, but have relatively low production numbers. |
