Your [realistic] dream car?
What are some dream cars that you realistically expect to own some day? Sure we all fantasize about shiney new Ferraris and Rolls-Royces, but I think most of us also recognize that some cars are more realistic than others, given our circumstances.

For me:

Citroen DS

2002 Turbo

Some kind of vintage Rolls-Royce/Bentley convertible... Haven't yet chosen which one. They go for WAYYY cheaper than you think!

RE: Your [realistic] dream car?
Well, I've already knocked one off my list, as you all know:

2002 Dodge Viper GTS:

As I'm getting older I'm appreciating more and more good handling, and less and less monster horsepower. Consequently, at this point my wish list consists of:

Lotus Exige:

Subaru WRX STI or Mistubishi Evo VIII/IX:

Either would make a fantastic autocross car.

And this:

Once I'm settled and have garage space, I think it would be a blast to buy a wrecked Viper and turn it into a track monster--stripped interior, lightened, aerodynamic aids, the whole nine yards. In five or ten years there should be plenty of wrecked Gen IV ACRs out there to start with.

No shoes, no shirt, and I still get service. Wah!

RE: Your [realistic] dream car?
Citroen DS FTW! I can't help but think of that orange one Clark Griswold was running around in. Anyway....

(1) The new Fiat 500, Sport or Abarth. I don't need to post a pic, ya'll seen it.

(2) Tesla Roadster. Maybe this is my slight environmentalist bent, or the fact that I find them jaw-droppingly sexy, or that driving an electric Scion xB was one of the funnest things I've ever done, or that I live in Boulder, CO, or that I played with R/C cars in my younger years ... who knows. I imagine that when I can afford to buy one used it'll need a new battery pack. No problem!

(3) And lastly, one of these two. I'm not picky which one; I love 'em both.

Oh....I almost forgot one. But considering the hassle of importation, I probably wouldn't quite call this one realistic. But, nonetheless...

Driving that would be like getting road head. Every. Day. I'd have to carry a box of tissues...

Also, VMan, brownie points for the Exige. But go STI...forget that EVO noise Wink

This

or this..

The GT-R being a bit more far fetched, though.

"912R"

race-prepped 914/6 (converted from the much more common 914/4)

Have to agree on:

And just because I've grown fond of the one my boss had in his yard:

And, Vman, go for the STi. After the rumble of a flat-4, inlines are just whiny and gutless.Tongue
Which is probably part of why both of mine are flat.

RE: Your [realistic] dream car?
My goal for the next one is a Defender 90.

Because I'm gay and need to own a 2 seater vert at some point, I'll try to get my hands on a Z8.

And I'd definitely take an Exige in this color.

And in preparation for the zombie apocalypse, a Unimog.

Rode in the back of a Unimog in Mexico once. Interesting experience. Where the axles meet the wheels on those is very innovative. Some gearing or something inside so they can lift the axle higher.

Hadn't considered the Defender 90.

But here's one more that's tickled my fancy from time to time.

I'd love to make that real.Big Grin
